exotic and specialty coffees

We are told that coffee cultivation on the island of La Palma has been known since the 19th century. It was implemented by returning emigrants, mainly from Cuba and Venezuela. Since their discovery, coffee seeds have traveled the world and the Canary Islands were no exception. Here they were planted and bore fruit, which at times had a certain importance and were even presented as a novelty at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1897*. But like so many other agricultural products in the Canary Islands, their presence in the palm fields was gradually abandoned, remaining only as evidence in a few farms for self-consumption. Perhaps the necessary infrastructure, both the machine park, the experienced workforce and, above all, the commercialization did not work and their management declined to the point of oblivion.

Years later, its production was tried again, also without success, except on the island of Gran Canaria, specifically in Agaete, which is still growing today, showing that coffee can be an alternative to traditional crops. For about fifteen years, and thanks to the hand of our friend José, we have 20 beautiful coffee trees growing in our garden, coming from his farm in Colombia. Year after year they have given us "their children" who adapt perfectly to the climate, land and sun of the Canary Islands. Now there´s a lot more.

And we thought it was time to share the smell and taste of these grains, grown with love, organic , handpicked, one by one at the right time. We do it because the size of the company allows it. Subsequent treatment down to your cup is carried out by a trained CQI technician who knows quality best.

A very special coffee... Ecological, exotic and handmade...

The coffee we grew up with has nothing to do with what we are craving right now. We demand quality, originality in taste, without the addition of products or chemicals; with natural roasts that let the whole magic of the grain unfold.

This is where the "special coffees" come from, produced in sustainable plantations, micro or nano batches so that the treatment is as individual as possible. We have an extra plus as LA PALMA is an island area with a wonderful climate. The coffees of the islands are considered EXOTIC and ours is also special. Our current, hectic, so "outside" life makes us desire and appreciate simple things like good bread baked with sourdough, an egg from hens raised in the wild in an orchard, a fruit ripened on a tree…“

On the advice of friends who are “nostalgic” for these authentic flavors, they suggested that we “anthearize” the coffee trees (coffee plant) for a while * and that we send them their product after processing … have a special coffee of their own plant? Do you know the origin of these grains? Being able to visit the farm within Europe? Are you sure that this coffee does not contain any additives or chemicals? Be able to support your beneficiary (process from harvest to roasting)? Follow its prime? We thought the idea was great and implemented it. We already have friends from the cafe who have reserved their floor. They are already antheists!
